SENIOR STRUCTURAL DESIGN ENGINEER
KEY RESPONSIBILTIES
Experience in structural design from concept through to detailed design. Design team
management is advantageous.
Construction experience in temporary works design is required and construction site experience is advantageous.
Confident communicator, able to explain engineering concepts clearly and simply.
The ability to work independently and to be client-facing.
An interest in temporary demountable structures and the events industry would be advantageous.
A sound knowledge of and ability to develop and apply first-principles engineering solutions, as
The motivation to work on the design of temporary works and to develop construction methodology with contractors.
An interest in digital design, 3D modelling and analysis would be advantageous.
Contribute to our drive for best practice design and engineering culture, including our drive for net-zero carbon construction and development of cutting-edge digital design technics.
Undertake site inspections and liaison with contractors through the construction phase.
Carry out site surveys and desk studies, preparing and presenting outcomes to key stakeholders.
Collaboration with clients, architects and other external consultants.
Assist with training and direction of graduate engineers and junior draftspersons.
Actively participate is the team culture, supporting your Team Leader in social, sustainability, H&S, technology development, QA and other team and business initiatives.
Flexibility to travel across the Middle East

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to comprehend, analyze, and interpret complex documents.

Partners with clients to exceed their expectations and build client relations.
Thorough understanding of structural behavior, soil/structure interaction, local and international design codes and standards.
Demonstrates experience in managing and designing large and/or complex structural projects from concept design through construction document production.
Requires intermediate knowledge of financial terms and principles.
Ability to calculate intermediate figures. Conducts intermediate financial analysis.
Intermediate skills with Microsoft Office Suite including MS Project.
Ability to use structural analysis and design software, including at least one and preferably several of the following: STAAD, ROBOT, ETABS, SAFE, ADAPT, AutoCAD, REVIT.
??EDUCATION AND TRAINING
Bachelor of Engineering (Structural or Civil) BEng or equivalent required
BEng (Hons) or MEng (Hons) would be advantageous
Chartered member status of the IStructE, ICE or equivalent would be advantageous
but working towards chartered status required.
