We are currently recruiting a Senior Design Manager. This role will be part of our Project Design Management (PDM) Office based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.\n\nThe purpose of this role is to provide proactive Design Management to deliver Major Building and\/or Infrastructure Projects in the Middle East. You will be responsible for successful project execution and delivery, client interface, and leading the technical quality of all project-related matters. Oversee and lead all design execution for your designated role by managing remote design teams, who may be located in Dubai or Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.\nWhat will you be doing?\nThe Senior Design Manager (DM) can support clients at the strategic or project level. Their role is primarily to manage design teams and collaborators through the different stages of a design process.\n\nThe following list gives a variety of responsibilities and tasks that the DM is expected to be able to deliver:\nProvide technical input into design-related material and deliverables within the scope of BH\nLeading the BIM approach to design development and collaboration\nManagement of issues, risks and project change requests related to design, to ensure successful and on-time project delivery.\nOverseeing RIBA design stages within individual projects, and masterplan developments.\nReviewing design submissions for gateway approvals\nPartaking in value engineering and cost validation exercises\nSupporting the Project Manager\/Director in the overall project deliverables\nCreating RFPs for design consultants and related activities\nWriting weekly and monthly reports on the design progress\nClient liaison on all design matters\nDevelop the best way in which programs or projects are to be structured, directed and managed, including the optimal organisation structure, authority and decision-making roles\nDefine the organisation of the design and delivery process, including the level of client interface and oversight, resources and skills, design cycles, assurance approach, information and communication management and design packaging approach\nSupport the Project Planner in developing the schedule and strategic milestones, analyse key dependencies and test various phasing options.\nEvaluate the progress of a project to detect limitations or faults in order to seek solutions to a more efficient process\nUse processes to delegate and ensure even distribution of tasks to project team members\nConduct feasibility studies and oversee the selection of consultants and sub-consultants\nSupport the growth and improvement of the PDM processes and procedures\nSuccess will look like the following:\nDelivering technical excellence through remotely located design teams\nMeeting the client expectations in terms of quality, time and design to budget\nKnowledge share and development of more junior Saudi National staff based in Riyadh\nSuccessfully supporting commercial proposals for major design commissions\nWhat will you bring?\nA person who demonstrates the experience of working with clients and a broad understanding of the design process.
