Job Description:
The Manufacturing Engineer plans, directs, and coordinate manufacturing processes in industrial plant.
Develops, evaluates, and improves manufacturing methods.
Analyzes and plans work force utilization, space requirements, workflow and designs layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency.
Works with production and design staff concerning product design and tooling to ensure efficient production methods.
Evaluates products and processes according to specifications and quality standards.
Estimates production times, staffing requirements, and related costs to provide information for management decision.
Attend meetings, as assigned, and as appropriate to evaluate ECNs and to discuss and evaluate issues which affect production.
Design assembly, test, and calibration fixtures with input from engineering, as required.
Order and coordinate Manufacturing Pilot Runs, as required, on review of ECNs on new or modified products.
Prepare cost build-ups and estimates as required for product development, specials, and input to purchasing for make/buy decisions.
Requirements:
Review SPIs and job descriptions related to the department and provide input on keeping them current.
Ability to read, analyze and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.
Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format.
Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, and permutations.
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
Bachelor of Science degree (B.S.).
3-5 years related experience.
