Geographical Information Systems Engineer

Overview / Responsibilities

Wood is currently looking for a Geographical Information Systems (GIS) to join our team in Dubai, UAE

Gathered, analyze and integrate spatial data from different disciplines and display in GIS
Create maps, graphs and reports using spatial data in GIS software
Dealing with queries regarding survey data
Developing and deploying Enterprise GIS Platform
Development and implementation of GIS Map Services
Maintaining the operational architecture for Wood Enterprise GIS Platform
Managing user privileges
Database versioning
Assist in the development of GIS project plans

Develop tools within ArcGIS to automate processes
Support GIS Manager

Skills / Qualifications

Minimum 5 years of experience in Oil and Gas engineering industry
Minimum 3 years of experience with developing applications and RDBMSs
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Geographical Information System (GIS), Computer Science, Survey Engineering
Knowledge of RDBMS and data modeling concept
Experience in writing scripts for GIS
Strong knowledge with developing applications using standard industry programming languages
Good understanding of Oil and Gas related survey data and reports (i.e. Topographic, Underground, Geotechnical and Laser Scan data)
Working experience with Web Map applications and services
