UAE driving license : mandatory

UAE experience in network storage experience : 4+ years’ L1 technical suport experience as a IBM, DELL, HP or Brocade storage administrator with excellent troubleshooting and documentation skills.

Fluency in English : mandatory

Our client is a UK based technology solutions provider and as part of their growth in the region, we are recruiting an experienced storage network engineer.

The role will provide on-premises and cloud support for IBM, DELL, Brocade or QNAP storage management technology.

Role Summary -Enterprise Storage Network Engineer

Troubleshoot and manage component failures, hardware and software issues, and performance issues across IBM, Dell and NetApp storage and Cisco MDS SAN switches.
Manage code upgrades and lead server and storage management and zoning on IBM, DELL, Brocade and MDS SAN switches.
Install, configure and troubleshoot storage, subsystems, backup, and DR solutions.
Proactively maintain storage systems for optimal performance, ensuring scalability, security and stability.
Optimize storage features – FST Cache, auto-tiering, snapshot replication, transactional replication, peer-to-peer replication and merge replication.
Storage data backup and restoration, including disaster recovery plans and tests.
Manage IBM all-flash storage including storage provisioning, replication, copy data management and monitoring/alerting.
Automate storage provisioning and SAN zoning
Measure and track compute/storage capacity, performance, and HA metrics across all storage and SAN platforms.
Configure and perform upgrades for Cisco DCNM for Cisco MDS SAN switch monitoring and alerting.
NetApp NAS storage – storage provisioning, replication, monitoring.

Mandatory Skills & Experience

4+ years’ experience as a IBM, DELL, HP or Brocade storage administrator with excellent troubleshooting and documentation skills.
Experience in server and storage performance analysis and tuning of storage subsystems; IBM all-flash storage management; cloud native storage.
SAN Switch management – DELL and Cisco.
Unix, Linux and Windows administration knowledge.
DR solutions – VMware SRM and Veeam.
Cisco MDS SAN switch management, including fabric ISL interconnects and SAN zoning.
Configure Microsoft Client links for NAS paths.
LINUX operating systems, storage environments, file systems, and network protocols.
Knowledge of networking principles including routing, subnets, TCP, IP, VLANs, and UDP.
Knowledge on Data Backup & Restoration to and from AWS cloud using services like AWS Storage Gateway, Amazon S3 & Glacier.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Information Technology
