We are currently seeking friendly and reliable individuals to join our team as Cashiers. This role plays a crucial part in ensuring a positive shopping experience for our customers and maintaining the efficiency of our checkout process.
- Greet customers as they enter the store and provide friendly and efficient service throughout their shopping experience.
- Scan and process customer purchases accurately and efficiently using point-of-sale (POS) systems or cash registers.
- Accept cash, credit/debit cards, vouchers, or other forms of payment from customers and provide change and receipts as needed.
- Ensure pricing accuracy and apply any discounts, promotions, or coupons to customer transactions in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Bag or package customer purchases neatly and securely, assisting with loading items into bags or carts as necessary.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization at the checkout area, including clearing clutter, sanitizing surfaces, and replenishing supplies such as bags and receipt paper.
- Handle customer inquiries, complaints, and returns courteously and professionally, resolving issues promptly and escalating concerns to management when necessary.
- Balance cash registers at the end of shifts and reconcile sales transactions, ensuring accuracy in cash counts and reporting any discrepancies or errors to supervisors.
- Follow proper cash handling procedures and security protocols to safeguard cash and minimize the risk of theft or loss.
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to ensure smooth operations, assist with restocking shelves, and perform other duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent qualification required.
- Previous experience in retail, customer service, or cashiering preferred but not required; training will be provided.
- Strong numerical aptitude and attention to detail to ensure accurate cash handling and transaction processing.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact positively with customers and colleagues in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic computer skills and familiarity with POS systems or cash registers.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift and move items weighing up to [XX] pounds.
