Overview Of The Department/Section
“MUFG Operations Department operates under a Hub and Spoke arrangement with the Operations Office for EMEA (EOO) based in London Headquarters.
MENA Operations handles the necessary coordination and communications with (EOO) for the processing of all transactions in the core banking system for MUFG Middle East with the exception of Riyadh Branch transactions.
The other primary functions of the team entails handling original trade documents, facilitating commodity booking for Islamic transactions, preparation and submission of various internal and external reporting, client communication, in addition to managing the inherent business risk, control and governance aspects at a transaction level. They also act as custodians for original customer documents and other original instruments. ”

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
Undertake day to day operations activities for the MENA region.
Key Responsibilities
Essential Functions*:
Ensure that all processes are conducted in-line with the Banks policies, procedures and operations manual
Responsible for ensuring accurate and effective processing of daily transactions and checking transactions processed under centralisation arrangement including Transaction Banking Products (Export, Import & Guarantees), Loans (Bilateral, Syndicated and project finance), Cash Management ( Remittance and Online Banking), Treasury Products such as FX , Money Market , NDF and Islamic Finance Products .
Ensure timely delivery of confidential documents, customer statements, audit confirmations and tax invoices to related parties and customers.
Process all Islamic Finance transaction(Dubai and Riyadh branch) in line with the Shariah requirements.
Prepare periodic, regulatory reports and any ad-hoc reports accurately and in a timely manner.
Establish a good working relationship with Operations Processing teams based in London, Middle East customers, Corporate Banking colleagues and various stakeholders in the branch.
Improve the understanding of all the products offered by the bank .
Handle internal and customer queries efficiently and professionally.
Prepare any required material for various internal risk committees
Properly manage and handle safe keeping of all important logs and records
Escalate any incidents immediately to any of the Vice Presidents within the team or Head of Operations as appropriate.
Prepare all the requirements for regulation visits and internal & external audit.
Play an active role in Operation related project.
Perform hub function for the booking of transactions under the balance sheet of Bahrain and/or Abu Dhabi.
Communicate with EMEA Operations Office (EOO) for end of day processing confirmation on a daily basis.
Manage daily systems reports monitoring and highlight any warning messages to the team head.
Maintain proper filing of transactions and documents archiving in new normal
Any other ad-hoc duties as instructed by management or the department head.
EDUCATION
University Degree (or equivalent)
Work Experience
7-8 years of working within a banking operations department
Skills And Experience
Fluency in the English language and Arabic is an advantage
Excellent IT skills in particular Microsoft Excel and Word
Swift system knowledge

PERFORMANCE AND DUTIES
The role holder will be assessed in accordance with their employing entitys performance framework and process with relevant input obtained from the dual hatting entity as relevant.
As duties and responsibilities change, the job description will be reviewed and emended in consultation with the role holder. The role holder will carry out other duties as are within the scope, spirit and purpose of the role as requested by their line manager or Department Head.
